Your funds are safe. I have discovered a truly marvelous proof of this, which this margin is too narrow to contain.

That image is already 300MB of uncompressed pixel data. That's a hard floor on the memory usage unless you do something crazy like build a streaming image processing pipeline.

It already does take seconds. Sometimes even minutes or hours. When you click "buy now", Amazon optimistically pretends the order completed instantly, and queues a backend job to charge your card. If your card is declined, you get

If I use my private key to send a transaction to your public key, the exchanges have no say in it. You can choose who to trust. If some exchange is corrupted, just don't use it.

A 51% attack in those days would have made no sense. These were the days before exchanges or even an exchange rate. To trade you had to post on a forum or IRC and wait around for an answer. If the network was attacked, it would have been an

The rule of thumb for multiple locks is always acquire them in the same order. Lock A, lock B, unlock B, unlock A. Otherwise you risk a deadlock. If another thread locks B, then tries to lock A, you're in trouble.

If I steal 50 Disney DVDs from a store (and they aren't recovered by the police) the store's insurance will reimburse the store for the loss, and then the store will order more DVDs to refill their stock. Disney actually comes out

Coming from the other side, most apps don't check the winapi error code when copying text. One app I use (notepad2 maybe?) at least throws up a tiny "Error" dialog box when it fails. I configured my clipboard manager to make

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the title seems a little clickbaity. "Cache invalidation might no longer be hard" --> "We built a tracing library and manually fixed the bugs it uncovered"

IMO sentences should scale with the harm done, not absolute dollar amounts. Violent crime with a real-life victim should always be treated more harshly than crime where the "victim" is a megacorporation's intellectual propert

I think DALL-E would be a good way to come up with these. The nonsense text it adds to images is usually pronouncable and somehow always seems to match the theme you give it. GilaWhamm.com, anyone?

I would be careful with that 137GB 7zip file too. If you wanted to target crypto users with a 7zip 0day, this would be the way to do it.
