A bit OT: In 2006, Volkswagen made an ad in the States for the Golf GTI and called it "turbo cojones". Apparently, they didn't know that "cojones" means testicles. They didn't do their research. While spritz

This is incredible. Only nitpick: If you dump the ball slowly, it gets a weird water spike on top of it and the water surface looks like some gel, not like water. If you pull it out, the ball should be wet. That'd be awesome :D

That's true. The apps distribute the numbers differently to make it more interesting. I don't know the exact rules, but I know that 6 and 8 may be adjacent, but if this happens, there must also be 2 or 12. Just give it a try, it&#

I found this book a bit shallow. What I liked a lot were the before-after self-portraits shown in the book. They are really nice. However, "drawing with the right side of your brain" means simply: Don't think about the concep

Trading is good to increase own resources (I almost never trade 1:1, mostly 1:2, depending on how badly the other person needs my resources) or doing the inverse: getting down to 7 resources during another player's turn to prevent havi

If you like Catan, check out one of the apps for Android/iPhone that uses an algorithm to make the basic setup more fair. I tried one for Android a few times and it was always a close call. The game was much more engaging for players t

Let’s get realistic here shall we? Building an alternative to Gmail? Nope. We can’t do that. The protocol is called IMAP and the client is called <insert-random-email-client-here>. Email is old and just about every email client does

Nice :) Then good luck to your studies. You don't have to be a sysadmin to publish your stuff. If you have a few hours, try to get a VPS to mess around. Some hosters offer different software packages to start with. Install something li

Did you reverse-engineer the original Flappy Bird to get the feeling so similar or just experimented until it felt right? What I don't like is that you ripped off everything 1:1 without giving credit. Yes, right now, everybody knows Fl

Oh sorry, didn't mean to sound snarky. It was a genuine question. I was just wondering how reading HN had an impact on my parent poster in terms of "computer words" or coding skills that he didn't understand before.

1:30 seems to be about right, could be less though. I have a GoPro 3 Black Edition and a second battery back. Recently I went snowboarding, took about 2-3 hours of video footage in total (as mentioned above in 150 small files) and cut every

Battery life is indeed bad. My advice: - Turn off WiFi. This drains battery faster than just having the camera record everything. - Take only "snippets". This makes editing easier later anyways, since it's usually more conven

This is one of the reasons I decided to start up this blog again. I stopped blogging largely because I learned how much I didn’t know and felt I had no right to be telling others what to do when there are more knowledgeable people out ther
