That's too much opinion with input being only a brief trial of autocomplete with AI, which most people don't even care about anymore these days. Tech requires constantly re-evaluating our decisions. Looks like you slacked off on t

I like that it seems to read way more sources than other AI when deep research, but hate that it always assume "research" to mean a verbose report with much filler.

Warp.dev and VSCode Copilot (I use Cursor et al too it could be any of them). Warp because I can't remember many commands (copilot in the terminal works too but you lose agent mode). They've just release v2 today, looking forwards

Any kind of open extensions can be framed as "lifeline" but it's also the only way a platform can evolve and actually cater to consumers' need. The alternative is the company somehow knowing how every consumer thinks. It

It's NOT intelectually challenging. Software engineers love to learn new things, but they do not love 10 different syntaxes for displaying stuff. Figure it out.

Problem: I want to do things but I wanna do it in one step (prompt) instead of x (or sometimes unknown upfront number of) steps, most likely dealing with shitty websitse and distractions in the process. Try to look at it from another angle,

Why use any tool when you have bare hands bla bla... A good place to start is think about for example if you need to copy paste info from 100 websites to put into a spread sheet for example.

I'm much prefer the VS Code style when you have 2 clear sections: staged and not staged. Zed's chose the IntelliJ style which is just a bunch of checkboxes, I can see it being easier to understand for the novice, but not very intu

I think you're referring to autocomplete? It's much better than, say, 2 years ago when it was indeed annoying as hell. Having said I always turn it off and use agentic coding, which is not intrusive, only activate if you ask for i

you have to write code for MCP server, and code to consume them too. It's just the LLM vendor decide that they are going to have the consume side built-in, which people question as they could as well do the same for open API, GRPC and

No software engineer needs any help if they keep working in the same stack and problem domain that they already know front to back after a few years doing the same thing. They wouldn't need any coding tool even. But that a pretty usele

You should not trust things that you can't find evidence for, yes. Imagine not being able to find evidence for any thing, ever, any more.
