Comparing it with React is a low bar, since a lot of people are unhappy with React. Arguments like "React is popular, AI knows it", or "React is popular, lots of component have been written in it" seem weak. A proper ant

Have you actually tried? I have not, but just look at how it still regenerates the entire code instead of producing a diff. Who iterates on software like that?

sorry the format of this site is just too annoying for me to bother to read it. If this is about the shocking revelation that you can paste some code into the browser console, aka manually extracting information, then manually put that into

> why a shadow root instead of the markup directly, well, that's kinda like asking why use web components at all that's way off. Web component is about encapsulation/reuse of code & markup. I am willing to entertain th

sorry I did not know about `shadowrootmode` but your original comment was just a single statement with a very specific claim. Now you are right about that you can use template without js. But I have to ask: what is the point of declarative

that's React's implementation, we are talking what it would be if not React. IMO the semantic is similar to attribute, example: let element = <my-thing my-attribute={value} /> element.property = prop

jsx is just a syntax to construct elements with attributes. You can still add properties like you do in a web component. In React you mostly never deal with instances (and properties) but that doesn't mean other ways to model component

It's always amazed me that Notion got as popular as it did. It's not exactly user-friendly nor technically cappable (not having API or any kind of external integration for most of its existence). There seems to be a group of nerds

Accept it, it is the deal with opensource. It's also the basis that people should be using when debating OSS versus other models. People should not be making business or policies or economic decisions based on some unenforceable honor

that's nonsense Ruby, Python and JS are all at about the same level of difficulty, most of the semantic is the same. If anything, the messiness of the language and ecosystem is the higher barrier of entry (Python and JS). JS is popular
