At least until recently the top tweet appearing under Trump's tweets was the one about John Mcafee giving away bitcoins, so I'd say that mechanism isn't working very well.

There are already more people who want to be journalists than there is work. I imagine it's the same situation with funding for public health research. I'd imagine that's the main limiting factor.

Couldn't they do that for anyone with bluetooth on, whether or not they're using the app? I get that knowing they have Coronavirus might make them a bigger target, though

Are you sure? Challenge studies have been conducted in recent years for Norovirus[1] and Whooping Cough/Pertussis[2]. Admittedly, less is known about Coronavirus, but both those two can be dangerous. 1. https://www.ncbi.nlm.

Wish it was like that in the UK. I work with some pretty talented people and we're paid what would be considered peanuts in the bay area (but fairly standard here), and even then half of us have just been furloughed. Lots of code sucks

Still plenty of evil things you can do without admin privileges, like running a server in the background that launches Zoom (as they tried previously).

I'm specifically talking about CSRF as I've found that to be quite widespread and some analytics providers have had flaws that can lead to your account being deleted or stats sent to someone else's email address, etc. I don&#

You can opt out of all data sharing in Google Analytics on the account settings page. There are also ways to opt out of ad targeting but that's irrelevant to this discussion.

By filtering out bots and giving you the number of visits rather than just pageviews, and also giving you data on things like screen resolution and time on page that can only be retrieved in javascript.

Also, unlike many smaller analytics providers, Google Analytics doesn't have glaring CSRF vulnerabilities and doesn't have creepy features that let you spy on individual users (no idea if this applies to Plausible or not).
