We manufacture our systems and many of our modules in Taiwan, and have had less tariff impact than other electronics companies as a result. Currently, laptops are also exempt from some tariffs.

It really depends on your usage environment, but one good thing is that its probably easier to clean the fans on a Framework Laptop than on most other laptops!

Ryzen AI Max is best with ~100B MoE models rather than large monolithic ones. For example, OpenAI's gpt-oss-120b runs at around 40 tok/s and beats Llama 3.1 70B on most/all benchmarks.

We have 1.5mm key travel, the keyboard is replaceable, and the vast majority of our keyboard artwork options don’t have a Copilot logo.

It should be straightforward! The only gotchas are if you want to preserve Wi-Fi. The antenna module lives in the lid assembly, so you either need to move it or use other antennas.

This is a key part of our product value prop. Our memory and storage upgrade pricing is much lower than most other laptop makers, and you can find your own on the open market for even less. Other laptop makers can preserve their overall m

Framework Laptop 13 and Framework Laptop 16 are matte. Framework Laptop 12 has coverglass (non-matte) to get the durability needed for stylus support.

Note that they are CSO-DIMMs, and may not be compatible with all products. In our limited testing, they do work on Framework Laptop 12.

We saw that there was a gap in the market for laptops that treat Linux as a first-class OS target, and we design our products with that audience in mind. That there are other people in the world who don't need Linux is totally ok.

We're headquartered in the US, but have manufacturing in Taiwan. You are correct that there is no change in tariffs or pricing for our EU (and other non-US) customers.

We took the Ryzen AI Max, which is nominally a high-end laptop processor, and built it into a standard PC form factor (Mini-ITX). It’s a more open/extensible mini PC using mobile technology.
