As others noted, we provide support for Ubuntu LTS and Fedora, and we have setup guides published for those along with Mint and Fedora. At this point, there is mature support for the hardware we are shipping, including the new 13th Gen Int

Part of the improvement comes from the 13th Gen processors, and part comes from improved firmware control of the retimers. We have firmware updates for 11th Gen (stable release) and 12th Gen (beta release currently) that enable the latter.

All of the modules are cross-compatible across 11th Gen, 12th Gen, and 13th Gen Framework Laptops. In the Marketplace, you can also use the compatibility filters in the nav on the left if you’re unsure.

We shared during our event in March that we'll be adding Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Taiwan this summer. We're building infrastructure to scale beyond that too, but we don't have a timeline or specific set of countries we can

S3 sleep isn't really supported anymore by either Intel or AMD. Both have been improving S0ix with each kernel release though. We've also made optimizations on our side around retimer/port behavior that substantially improv

Correct. AMD officially announced the processors today, which means we get to announce them too. Before this, people were basically operating on trust that the Framework+Ryzen combo was going to spec out positively.

We've used the Intel AX210 on everything except the original 11th Gen pre-built systems which use AX201 and the Chromebook Edition, which uses AX211. AX210 on Ryzen is a YMMV situation. Neither Intel nor AMD will provide any guidance

There was something insanely appealing about the REX and related devices. I would love to see someone build a PDA or Tamagotchi-like Expansion Card or Input Module for a Framework Laptop.

I have no idea how or why this is on HN, but we did print a couple of them to test out, and they work! It is a goofy idea, but there are genuinely some scenarios where it would be useful. We’re thankful to have attracted such a clever and

The simple case in which you have a home where everything is more or up to code isn’t hard. The complexity comes in when you’re unwinding decades of other people’s hack jobs (the case in most real homes I’ve come across). I agree that the

If nothing else, you need to go out of your way to get familiar with Peruvian food, which is some of the most interesting in the world. It’s a blend of pre-Incan (relevancy to the article), Incan, Spanish, Japanese, and Cantonese cuisines.

We thought about this, but at the point that you want to add the space for a battery, picking up an extra Bottom Cover for a Framework Laptop becomes a plausible path. We worked with Cooler Master to make this case as minimal as possible.
