Situations like this one make a company show whether they really are open source or only do so for marketability and to artificially appear more trustworthy. And sadly too often it comes out that it’s the latter

Seems like the „community-maintained” ones they endorse, like the Rust implementation, do I did not realize Rust wasn’t officially supported until I didn’t go to their GitHub and see in the readme that it’s a community project, and not thei

I like the e, it’s cute. The only real issue I have with this font is that the weight of each digit feels uneven. I can’t put my finger on it but looking at the comparison chart with the version numbers, even though the stroke width is the

I tried using pijul as the main VCS for my projects I really did and the fundamentals are awesome, but last time I used it the UX was pretty terrible. The easiest and most immediate thing that’d address my issues would be git status-esque c

To me leopard is the most iconic. In my head it’s the wallpaper of modern macOS. I still remember back in the day that was the first thing I downloaded when I tried to make my Vista PC look at least a little bit like a Mac :-)

Obligatory mention of rash[0] which I absolutely adore but because it never got the love it desires, the REPL experience is quite lacking. The scripting however is genuinely pretty delightful [0] https://rash-lang.org/

It’s so surreal to me how every time apple comes up on HN there’s so so many people coming to defend them and applauding them for what they’re doing when, like in this example, they’re clearly trying to manipulate and do whatever they can t

Personally I build and cache all of my configurations with Hercules-CI + Cachix. The 5 gig limit on Cachix is slowly starting to limit me because of the 5 machines’ configs I currently have (and growing) so I’ll probably need a private cach

You’re either ignorantly or willfully misunderstanding the problem. Cars existing isn’t bad on its own, it’s the fact that, especially in North America, it’s not only the default but also more often than not the only option people consi

It’s not a matter of “is it good enough to replace humans”, as despite all of us here knowing it’s not, we could list many companies (and even industries) where it’s already happening

The rust code is very unidiomatic, not only because of the Vec of Vecs which I’d say, even if it’s the obvious naive approach, no one experienced wouldn’t choose over a flat slice, the implementation itself is very naive and unidiomatic.

I’d rather they either give the assumptions in the puzzle description or at least in the examples. There were a few puzzles which I didn’t enjoy due to personal reasons but those I don’t have anything against, so long as the problem doesn’t

I feel like the quality of puzzles has fallen over the years. This year had much more “spot something in the real input which neither the examples nor the puzzle itself states” than any previous I participated in. I really don’t enjoy those

My servers with no public records or associations with any services are being probed all the time. It’s one of the laws of the internet - if it has a public address, people will try to break into it.

Because they’re working on algebraic effects so obviously IO won’t be the only effect out there. Also because “mut” is even more misleading as it doesn’t capture everything an “IO function” can do, in comparison to a pure function.
