Agree, fiction and narrative is a fundamental method of human reasoning, one of the first and oldest. I think a lot of people are reacting to this are missing some of the point - fictions may not literally model reality, but what makes cert

Part of the beauty of tests like PISA are that, at least in the US, nobody is teaching to the test because it doesn't have an effect on the students, the teacher, or the school. That makes it an ideal measure because it's less dis

Yeah K12 and higher ed are vastly vastly different. There's also many reasons for many foreign students at US universities that are unrelated to academics: - we have the best universities in the world, and lots of them - our universiti

Another bit of evidence is unruly passenger reports from airlines [1]. There's a kind of mass PTSD / trauma response at work re covid that causes people to shy away from the obvious facts about its effects on us. That said, these

Glad you liked it! I worked on 3d modeling/texturing and mp maps, though my time was divided between BZ2 and our other game Dark Reign 2 and other duties, so I was never full-time on BZ2. Of the games I worked on during my 3 years at P

It's a pretty unique hybrid genre game, you don't really get a lot of first person + RTS experiences, I think that's the big enduring appeal. It also gives you a lot of vehicle types to pick from, which became Pandemic's

The new Macs with M4 Pro/Max have Thunderbolt 5 which supports up to 120Gbps video bandwidth: 3x that of previous gen. That should cover 8k120 or multiple 8k60 displays! And the regular M4 now supports 8k60 displays I believe due to DS
