Very impressive game, one of my all-time favorites. Felt a bit personal because of own struggles with alcohol too. I'm happy that I bought it after they added the voice narration to it, the narrators do a fantastic job bringing the cha

I think some fonts do this so that they have a distinguishing feature. Fonts seem to be a very saturated market, so this might help being noticed in a crowd of sameness and copycats, and many people don't look at a font otherwise eithe

I think these efforts need to be done at every level at the same time, and I agree that the "lower" or "earlier" levels need to be prioritized. Similar to how prevention is usually preferred to reaction.

I agree that it's a bad goal, in terms of how it being a goal corrupts the value itself. Like in Goodhart's law, "When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure". But managing a larger entity cannot real

Ah, right, then maybe I didn't see the point after all. Nextcloud handles this quite well though, I think, it will say, on the phone, that there is a conflict between the two versions of the file, and in case of images, it ever shows t

I see your point, but from the perspective of the Android phone, this is already a backup. This is because if I lose the phone, I can restore the important parts of its state from the copy on the server - which is the definition of a backup

I think this conflates Microsoft and Windows. SteamOS threatens Windows, maybe, hopefully, but Microsoft is, and has been for a long time much bigger than Windows is.

This sentiment misses the point. It's not that Linux is not capable - it's plenty capable, and has been for decades now. It's that support for it is lacking. The lack of support makes Linux look bad, because, from the persp

Agreed, and hardware support is another one. For PC hardware (and software as well), the de-facto standard platform is Windows.

Nextcloud for me. I run my own home server, which is just a normal PC on a cheap UPS, on a residential internet connection with dynamic DNS. On that, Proxmox, and Nextcloud lives in there as an LXC container. On my phone, the Nextcloud app

Linux gaming became pretty good on PC too. Steam and Proton was a significant driver here as well, and we now have completely open-source Steam Proton-like solution too, the Heroic Launcher. Can highly recommend, really easy to set up, and

I completely agree, and I'm baffled that so many miss the point, and/or subscribe to the original outrage. This is the same as someone uploading a photo, adding a filter, and later the application itself suggesting another filter,

Third party in this case could be two things at least. One, an advertisement that is about something that provided by someone who is not Meta - like a Nike shoe, or a law firm. Two, third party could imply that the data left the Meta ecosys

Not really. OP was already an Instagram and Meta AI user. So, in the TV analogy, this would be like telling you about an upcoming programme, while you are watching a channel.

I fully agree. There is a lot, a wide spectrum of abuse that Meta can be attacked for, and this little thing is not one of them. I think this is why I feel so personal about this - I do dislike Meta a lot, but I like it when people roast it
