Steven Johnson had an interesting take on this in his book Everything Bad Is Good For You: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everything_Bad_Is_Good_for_Y... TL;DR - the complexity of media has been increasing over the

I think Seneca said it best: “It is a great man that can treat his earthenware as if it was silver, and a man who treats his silver as if it was earthenware is no less great.”

As someone who loves Infinite Jest and does think it's the best novel of our generation, I was pretty much just as enthralled and entertained by the Tim Tebow Chronicles. Honestly, there are also some similarities in the dreamlike alte

You might enjoy 17776 [0], a mixed media fiction piece by the same author, which does not include large scale space battles but does generally take place in space (and is also discussed elsewhere in this thread). :-) [0]: https://

I appreciate how the author captures the mindset involved in this kind of trading. I would cash out if I had 6,000% gains, but that same mindset is what prevents me from getting 6,000% gains in the first place, because I’d never go all-in o
