I wish they would build compression directly into SQLite. I use SQLite as a log store mostly dumping JSON data in it. Due to the lack of compression the DB is probably 10 times the size it could be.

There is an SQLite compression and encryption "add-on" which seems to do what you want. Check the official website. Hint: You have to buy a license to use it legally.

That's why you turn AVs off either completely or at least exclude your own code folder. It wont ever do anything useful and worse even I had it delete/quarantine my own binaries in the past because it somehow got triggered. Also b

I dont think bots have the flags for blocking only in some apps like channels and groups have. The bot runs on someone else machine and telegram most likely just temporary disabled the token to disable the bot from communicating with the te

The browser does not host or provide content. Messengers like Telegram however do. Public telegram content can be found direct with telegrams in-app search. Also everyone knows that browsers are excluded form most of these store rules becau

Wouldn't that move the power from the app store owners to the browser owner? These are the same companies just a bit different market shares.

Probably when something gets down-voted/flagged edit is disabled so you cant "remove the evidence". But I'm just guessing HN internals are p proprietary.

You can use use one of the web archive services to get a url to share if Telegraph is blocked. By combining the 2 services you can get what you want without identification.

They ban bots all the time. Bots are consider public and have to comply with telegrams ToS and to an extent with Apple/Googles ToS. Problems here mostly are related to illegal data, copyright infringement and adult content. If they cou

Sorry but this is you first post here and what you claim doesn't make much sense. He didn't have to pay back the TON investors because the deal included that if the network does not go live by a set date (and the reason isn't

When Russia wanted some kind of encryption keys he could not hand over because they dont exist, Telegram was banned in Russia but people found ways to use it anyway. So I dont think Russia has anything to "force" Durov other than

There was recently comments about this with questionable reasoning. There is an official statement now so everyone can make their own educated opinion. Please don't start a "telegram is not encrypted by default" shitstorm lik

Does it matter? Its basically just bitcoin that makes up almost all of PoW.

On the whole world? Good luck with that. Name one thing the whole world has agreed on and is successfully enforced everywhere.

You misses the point. There is no reason to ban anything. You can also buy Pokemon cards and sell or trade them. Call them funny money cards if you want, but there is no legitimate reason why people should not be able to buy/sell them.

PoS is not the successor of PoW. FBA consensus is. PoS is and always was just a adjusted new version of same idea that only removed the energy problem. The comparison between PoW and PoS is a useless distraction. Its like comparing diesel I

Only PoW cryptos need extensive electricity and hardware. Dont make crypto just bitcoins. If you really want to help make a dent in the energy consumption then people need to move away from PoW coins not from crypto in general.

Only PoW cryptos need extensive electricity and hardware. Its completely absurd to ban crypto. Thats like if you would ban all motorized vehicles to get rid of coal blasting diesel trucks without catalytic converter. Needless to say that it

None of that is a problem is you only use the google cloud as a backup and not as a the place to work on/with the data directly. It simply isn't save to use for anything other than as an additional backup.

NH doesn't like Greenwald. I only posted this because HN also does not like BigTech so it at least had a chance to get seen by some people who are interested.

Once the platform says something bad about side X, side X declares it to be a pro-Y biased platform and this attracts pro-Y people and thats basically the end.
