The new iOS 4 jailbreak doesn't require any of that. You don't even need a computer; everything happens in userland on the device. Curious to see if this affects jailbreaking numbers.

I do a lot of interviews for software developers, and I ask a very simple database normalization question that close to half of the candidates miss completely. Something like: "You're tracking doctors, hospitals, and patients. Doctors can s

I think a large-scale recall is unlikely. True, in places where reception is already bad, touching the no-zone makes things worse. But overall call reliability and data throughput (especially 3G HSPA upload rates), even in poor reception ar

I didn't quit, but I stopped reading the Facebook feed. That was a major step for me, as I was somewhat north of Facebook's average of 55 minutes per user per day on the site. This has really helped cut that down to < 10.

Poe's Law is a staple in just about every religion/philosophy forum I've ever visited, especially when a new poster comes along. It's easy to come across as suspiciously Poe-like on the Internet. Double credit to Colbert for pulling it off

I try not to smoke joints; the water bong is much friendlier on your lungs and throat. I probably average 1-2 joints' worth per day. I think a lot about whether pot has been a net positive in my life, and honestly I'm still unsure. Certainl

I'd call myself a high-functioning pot smoker. Didn't touch the stuff for my entire life until I moved to SF. Certainly didn't expect to become a regular. By day I'm a software developer. I smoke most nights, and I still get good work done

Honestly, editorializing link titles is just... tacky . The least you can do for content creators is to link them accurately.
