First mac with Apple chip by the end of the year. Also Apple is committing to a long term pipeline of Intel chips. This makes sense since so many apps will take years to transition. At the same time, they're willing to put their own ch

I would agree with you that there would be the same if it's the same people running. This is the systematic part that needs to change. When companies fail, there is a new CEO, new board, new executives. Let's do the same with fail

Actually no. As diegof79 pointed out, Perl was the first one with a centralized package management system with CPAN. Perl was first released in 1987. Python was first released in 1990. Javascript was first released in 1995. The internet was

I loosely included Babel and Webpack as part of dependency management since Python does not have a similar compile step. I don't think it is unfair since they fall into the same category of wtf when trying to get your dev environment w

Agreed. I think pipenv had a really good start but sputtered. Poetry does look hopeful to solve the dependency resolution.

I'm only familiar with Python, Javascript and Rust. It seems to me that Rust is the only one that has "solved" this problem. I dont think there are any real Python devs who thinks dependency management is solved. However, why

The power that vim has out of the box is pretty incredible. The macro system is very easy to use and powerful. That said, it is hard to learn all these features and modern GUI IDEs are pretty amazing. You can still use vi in many of these e

Yea the dark side of Vim is that it is at best IDE light. With coc, it has gotten better but still far behind vscode. It is a trade off I gladly accept to use vim and tmux. Aside from that, vim plugin for vscode is pretty good for doing pai
