There are more details that make me believe that linux as mobile OS is more feasible in near future. Apart from the Valve&SteamOS push, the one notable phenomenon that I see happening is retrogaming. In retrogaming handhelds ecosystem t

I think there are 3 major points that made Linux much more viable option in the last 2-3 years. 1) Somehow both GNOME and KDE got much better in the last 2 years. It's very smooth and polished experience that I now prefer to both MacOS

I got personally de-banked from one bank and I'm nobody. I had other options, so it was only a minor issue, but I can't imagine what it's like for people when they run out of alternatives.

There are multiple apps that I know and want to use that are no longer available on Play Store, but only via Zapstore, Obtanium or similar. I'm just hoping that these changes don't affect solutions like GrapheneOS or that we will

(some) people are starting to understand why cash is so important. It's the neutrality that it provides. The fact that it can't be programmatically limited or censored and you can't be excluded from the economy. Cash is inclu

You repay with another loan. Repeat multiple times. And then you die. This is the strategy that people follow.

I think one highlight is that the old propaganda doesn't affect you in the same way as the "current thing" propaganda. Old propaganda feels sort of cute. So this is an argument for watching older movies :)

What is the story with OpenGFX then? It sounds like OpenTTD is completely new codebase and OpenGFX (which I also helped with) is completely new graphics. Why does one have to pay for that?

The current UBI frame is nothing like what you said. And I think this is the issue with UBI - the incentives are not aligned for it to be stable and reasonable over time, but rather to get much worse and misused over time.

Only very small % of bitcoiners believe the ad absurdum thesis as you outlined it and yet to all bitcoiners the investment makes sense long term. That's something that you will have to reconcile on your side.

Agreed, the community currently has quite a lot of bitcoiners, but other communities are there too - surfers, open source dev, artists, musicians. You need to look for who to follow though.

Or if you want something actually better at the core, you can switch to nostr. It's quite easy to even implement your own client app for nostr (even more so with LLMs), so you can get the experience you want.

It's nice to be on a network that doesn't have a CEO or a board. I think this is why Nostr is really something different and more important.

I think as a society we moved away from trying to say that women are exactly the same as men in every aspect, so this change seems reasonable to me.

I think the edge that will actually bring new widely used mobile linux based OS is going to be gaming devices. Steam Deck and many of retrogaming devices are already running Linux. Some devices have option for user to either boot linux or t

In my experience it actually is. I went through multiple terminals and they all had issues for me (missing key remapping functionality, slowness, not working across platforms, UI ugly...), but Ghostty is solving most of these.

After talking to many folks from US I appreciate that. It's like going through the original `SYN ; SYN ACK ; ACK` flow. You are just establishing the conversation, but then the content can start flowing after if there's interest.
