I’d love to, but I don’t think I’ll be getting any aid. When I tried some years back, I was offered nothing. I wasn’t making crazy money, middle class income for sure, but a fraction of what’s considered “good” tech money and I was denied a

Just the market/timing maybe? For comparison, I’ve worked in a similar tech stack and never had any issues whatsoever finding a job until maybe late 2022. You don’t list any dates, but I had no problem getting interviews and recruiters

Eh, I’m a mid level dev, and have worked for those sorts of companies in the past, but even they won’t hire me anymore. I’m not sure if they filled all their open roles off the layoff or what. For example I used to work for a F500 retail co

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a job listing for a “statistician” outside government roles.

Just to expand a bit since I didn’t have the time when I posted, I’m looking for a new career and aircraft mechanics are moderately in demand in my area. There are two Part 147 AMTS schools nearby, one is a program for high schoolers exclus

But there’s still the problem. If you established you career doing X and you’re preferred niche is Y , you aren’t going to get to use Y at work because it’s simply irrelevant to you’re career doing X . Let’s say in a run of the mill ent

My experience is no one gives a shit if it happens outside of work hours. Maybe if you can establish yourself to pseudo-celebrity status within the particular niche?

I haven’t noticed any major difference, but I don’t use it a ton. My biggest gripe is that the search on the mobile app is terrible (mostly because it doesn’t let me sort by date), but I think that predates the acquisition.

Regardless, I don’t see how making perfectly legal bad choices means you’re more likely to commit crime. Perhaps we should also deny jobs to people who get divorced or who eat an unhealthy diet, as those can be an indicator of “poor choices

I’m still trying to figure out how one becomes a “generalized specialist”. I would seem that once you establish yourself as a generalist, it becomes increasingly difficult to achieve specialization.
