Considering that this pollutes the air we breathe and releases sequestered carbon, might I suggest interring trimmed brush deep enough to not burn but shallow enough to feed roots as it decomposes into the soil rather than air. Obviously t

So boring to see a steady drumbeat of anti cannabis here on HN. Daily articles in the feed, etc… I use cannabis to control intra ocular pressure and it works as well as the timolol drops and without the exhaustion of the beta blocker. 3-4

What if journalists actually knew what an LLM is and how the ability to string verbals tokens is not intelligence. 2023 is the year Program or be Programmed by Douglas Rushkoff became extremely relevant

It doesn’t reason, it isn’t intelligent. There are humans who avoid reasoning but the biological capacity for this is inbuilt. An LLM is like asking Google to make a search results collage. It’s an entirely derivative essentializer

That’s going to depend upon deployment context. The hype around LLMs and the word AÍ has certainly been received by the general public as license for further penetration of markets. I doubt most humans are comfortable with autonomous vehic

The MAGAS have taken over the GOP. Rank and file GOP now openly espouse Qanon precepts. It’s standard fare to speak of gutting support for Ukraine and of support for Putin. We witnessed a physical coup attempt Jan 6th, rallied by Mr Trump a

Wow, I would never hire you with such a reckless attitude. “Turned out ok” is not an acceptable excuse for high risk behavior. I think your insult is icing on the cake. GTFO

The bigger issue in guitar shops is that the least experienced player is the one salivating to hook up to the Marshall stack and play smoke on the water. Make them demo small combo amps instead and we are all good

I like this. I feel like it conveys proportional relative intervals visually as well, so it’s teaching you patterns correlated in audio and visual geometry

Totally, but it’s an industry term since the Nord Lead, and honestly there’s no attempts at replication of analog stochastics, barring “oscillator drift” or some pseudorandom phenomena applied to pitch or phase if combining generators. An a

Plus, if you are cost cutting: buy a teensy and use your Korg NanoKontrol and open the Arduino IDE and go to “VA synth demo” under teensyduino presets and boom, at least it’s not making Uli Behringer any money at the expense of some other c

McDonalds famously uses yellow to get people to eat and leave in a hurry. Lavender and violet are universally calming in humans. I don’t have the links handy, but color psychology doesn’t vary much by individuals, it’s something somewhat h

I’m pretty sure we do driver harrowing on purpose, here in Portugal. This is not to excuse rash driving, which is rampant, but rather to indicate the presence of sadistic individuals in our roadway infrastructure safety and design areas.

That’s a bunch of FUD. Climate science is and has been solid, but fossil fuel industry lobbies have tried to add doubt to what is certain and known. I see your tactics and I call you out on them.

What a misleading headline. “Exacerbating” ocean heating, perhaps, but THE primary cause is anthropogenic combustion of fossil fuels.
