I came here to copy and paste the exact same quote. It makes me feel better when I dream up AI algorithms that I don't even know are possible or not given my limited vocabulary yet know I can go forward with any of them and learn what

Dear Vint Cerf, since you have created TCP-IP, and another contemporary of yours - HTTP, you seem to be tacitly encouraging a decentralized worldwide exchange of information used by billions around the globe to facilitate exchange of ideas,

Just want to point out how easy it is to do this using SSH tunnels. ssh -nNT -R :<server port>:localhost:<local port> user@domain

No one uses Facebook enough to actually have their whole life archived on the internet. You're running from a fantasy.

Stripe owns Hackernews. They consistently get their new product offerings to the front page with huge points. Yes they're loved by the Hackernews community (and rightly so) but I wonder if their ability to get their stuff to the front

This is one of the most overtly authoritarian proposals for internet regulation I've ever heard from a democratic, Western nation. How in the hell are the people of the UK supporting something like this? As an American who cherishes li

Stopped reading at the line: "A few students—all of them white guys, Wu remembers—would hang around to ask about the research and to probe for flaws in its design. Wu still didn’t believe in ESP, but she found herself defending the exp

This is not a battle they can win. Most American's DGAF if their shit is encrypted, until the PSA campaign fighting against laws like these tells them the government is taking away their rights and able to snoop on their lives. Just li

Had the same sentiment in my post but got down voted and flagged. Called out the thousands of globalist who will use Google's power to censor content they deem unfit for the public to see. This is a systemic problem in silicon valley.

This whole "fake news" problem feels like a giant ruse. Their candidate (Hillary) lost, thanks in a large part to the democratization of media on the internet and right leaning online media outlets, and now they're trying to
