I think it’s fundamentally wrong to base your plugin architecture on running user code in the same space as the application. The proper way is to evaluate plugin scripts in an interpreter running in the application, where you expose functio

I don’t really think OP is writing code themselves since they admit they still use agents for code gen. I’ve really scaled back the amount I use agents though because in the medium to long term I haven’t been getting good results with them.

Writing code by hand is an oxymoron. You don’t write code with AI, AI doesn’t write, it generates.

Natural language doesn’t have the precision required for building systems. We already have languages for specifying systems precisely. It’s called “code”…

It’s possible for something to be both highly regulated and bad. Regulation is not a silver bullet.

“Individuals by consensus” feels oxymoronic to me. If that’s a description of the outcome, it’s possible today! Individuals can chose not to use a technology and if enough do so to form a consensus, they may be able to impose constraints on

Democracy was better when the only viewpoints we were exposed to were from corporate media outlets? Are you sure about that? Better for whom?

> The cyberlibertarians wanted you to believe that radical individualism plus deregulated capitalism plus inevitable technology would produce communitarian utopia. This is, on its face, insane. It is the economic equivalent of claiming t

Nothing anyone says about Apple here is based on “objective observation” so idk what your point is. Your entire comment is also just your feelings.

Seems just as valid as any of the other syntactical nitpicks of other languages, except it touches every line of code you write and it’s unavoidable.

Apple feels like the only big tech company that remotely cares about its users. Thank god they make the best computer and OS too. I’m sure this will not be a popular take on HN however.

There are arguments made specifically about the implausibility of such a room making the argument itself invalid. Or I guess I should say “we’re”, because that position is now much less tenable with LLMs.

Every significant argument has plenty of detractors, that doesn’t mean they’re right. Every argument I’ve heard to the contrary is unconvincing to me, and to the majority: https://survey2020.philpeople.org/survey/result

Mmm, I feel it’s more common for them to just blindly agree with whatever you say. Assistant: “I propose A” User: “Actually B is better” Assistant: “you’re absolutely right” User: “actually let’s go with C” Assistant: “Good choice, reasons

What does Siri have to do with anything? Honestly your posts read like satire. You’re treating LLMs like a religion and the release of Opus 4.6 as like some type of rapture. Idk man, if it’s some sort of bit or false flag thing well played,

I’d say the internet did, since it literally connected people across the globe in real time, which actually provided the technology that allows LLMs and other similar tech to exist in the first place. I think it’s pretty clear the internet
