I've "enjoyed" most of these including the occasional loud blast of white noise when trying to connect, and my favourite; they disconnect immediately when there's no output for a few seconds and then take a few seconds t

Out of sheer curiosity, is it just the white on black and would a "softer" light-grey on dark-grey be better for you? Or just generally light on dark?

Maybe, but the workman of old didn't have tools that were pretty much engineered to distract them. Focus is a real problem for a lot of people, and some people are really easy to distract.

Part of it you won't be able to fix by making changes to your device, because its you. You can take away all the distractions, but you're a human being, you will be looking for them at some point and you need to be able to stop yo

I used to feel a way about this, but I honestly don't care anymore. Have your code-formatter deal with it and forget it exists. Even 2 vs 4 barely matters to me anymore as long as the code is formatted/structured in a consistent w

As long as your source and target branch are present on the remote (i.e. github/lab/whatever) you probably don't need to trash the entire repo. Just `git --rebase abort` and if you're halfway through a rebase just delete

What an amazing age she reached, few do. I grew up watching Golden Girls way back, it seemed like she didn't age from then. Rest in peace, you'll be missed but you warmed people's hearts for a good time.

I'm probably not going to add a whole lot more than what's already been written here, but pragmatically; if the deploy tooling isn't compatible with your app, and that tooling needs to support other apps as well, why not make

The way people responded to him was nice as well, they understood he was a beginner and either trying to learn or challenge his image of what he'd learned until then.

I think your example could be seen as designing as a team, its just one person who does the writing, but everyone who needed to be involved was involved. On a smaller scale I've worked in teams where when someone picked up a story, for

It's your career, you decide, but no I wouldn't call it unprofessional. If the company doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. I've been in a similar position before but decided to wait it out until the 6 months mark, I'd

Keybr.com is great for this. I've been touch typing all my life, but when I started programming, I noticed that typing brackets, parens and a bunch of other symbols really slowed me down. Great to practice those as well.

Exactly. People like the parent make themselves crazy thinking they need to be the expert at absolutely everything. You don't. Learn your fundamentals, and learn how to learn. All of these front-end frameworks, that's just tech. A
