You're probably right, but in all honesty, if you didn't know Jakob Nielsen before, you probably have never worked with usability testing.

I frankly think it's how it should be. He's really good in testing and analysis. Focusing in the solution is almost like an entirely different matter.

Doing that would be acknowledging that there's a problem - and this is something that will never be done. Remember, their devices are magical and Apple can never do anything wrong.

This may become a problem with the Android market too -- in fact, I already see it happening sometimes, when searching for particularly common application words. I hope that Google/Android system implements some better ranking algorithm in

Great degradation (meaning that the animation doesn't work in my current latest-but-non-beta FF 3.6.3, but the hard image switching still does).

Really? http://www.craftymind.com/guimark2/ So less features, slower adoption, and worse performance will kill the Flash Player. Interesting.

No. They're saying there's a bunch of inane people who think Adobe is against HTML5 and that HTML5 is the death of Flash, while it isn't.

Funny, because you're able to create SWF content using only free, open source software, including their own compiler. I don't believe your point holds. Do you ever do any Flash work?

Any way to tweak the auto-update features for Flash? I want to have the debugger version installed instead, or disable it altogether. :/

I guess that's my issue with it. I, for one, am impressed that this can all be done with CSS3, that framerate is pretty good, that image rotating and scaling has great quality, and all that. But with the guy taunting the "no flash!" thing s

So after a lot of work, using poorly documented features that are not consistently adopted and by using very specific versions of very specific browsers that should amount to near 10% of the user audience, I'm able to view an animation that

I won't blame you for the confusion, as the naming is mixed up, but "Flex SDK" is the command-line Flash (SWF) compiler. It's free and open source. It's used to create SWFs or SWCs. It's the same compiler the Flash IDE has built-in. I creat

The fact that the repeats the rollover crap makes it sound as if they're really trying hard on rationalizing. Just say it's a business decision, Apple. Stop pretending you have the consumer in mind.

No, people use Flash because of what it can do as a platform. As "development environment" goes, Adobe's own tools are subpar and easily surpassed by third-party environments, many of them free. Wanting Adobe to create tools that output to

It does not validate, but it does negate the whole "I'm forced to use Adobe stuff" point people like to spill around. That has been moot for a while and people continue to press on it.
