The issue is that some things are difficult to decarbonize because they emit carbon directly due to chemical processes or use gas for process heat. There is a lot of investigation into whether these can be decarbonized economically, but a l

The buildings are nice, but the urban design is absolutely awful. Saw an exhibit about him in NYC, I think at MOMA, a few years back, and it was all these monumental buildings separated by gigantic plots of land with multi-level highways be

This sounds like kind of how Tapatalk works. Tapatalk forums are fine enough, so it's not a bad model. I think there's a third piece missing though which is discovery/distribution. On reddit, popular posts from any sub can re

I think the argument is that current and future AI advancements could lead to AGI. The people I've seen like Yudkowsky who are concerned about AGI don't claim that Chat-GPT is an AGI AFAIK. BTW, I disagree with Yud, but there&#x

This is accurate to my experience with CoPilot. I've found if I type a function name, it will quite often autocomplete the entire function for me, correctly referencing variables that are available in scope, and naming parameters well.

It's indefinite if plugged in. You'd be in your office or wherever with the device plugged in for productivity use.

To be fair, I believe the graphic in the article is a stylized version of that figure, and my takeaway from the text is similar to your summary. I think it's only the headline that's overselling it a bit.

Anyone know why a GAN was used here? The discriminator makes sense, but what is the purpose of the generator for the given experiment? Why not cut out the generator, since the discriminator is trained separately on speech data anyway.

I disagree on the absolutism in this. Cars can take you places that not many people want to go, and whenever you want, which is one of the coolest things a person can do. You're never going to build transit to all of these places, and

The bias shown in this article is pretty stunning. These "scientists" have fairly clear evidence that ice cream may have a health benefit, and yet they completely refuse to accept it because it runs counter to their intuition. Any

I have a similar-ish thread going for an app I'm building. In my case, the app is just a toy simulation that simulates creatures with simple neural network brains. I knew very little about neural networks going into it, but knew a few

I dunno, I feel like we've been trying to find new places to put computers for a couple decades now, and the effort is kind of losing steam. Every week there are threads about how useless a lot of these efforts are.

I think you're misreading the OP slightly. There's no cross-compatible system for variable equipment, which is why the OP says you can't use variable speed equipment with Nest. Nest is basically a really fancy switch only. To

I think "floor plan app" is the keyword you want to use, there are a bunch of these. You draw a floor plan and then most of them can give you a 3d render based on that. I used floorplanner.com, but there are several options.

Software engineers want a seat at the table, but refuse to form unions that would actually give them one. I'm curious if that will begin to change during this era of greater pressure from management (but I doubt it).
