What would be the purpose of this with USDC though? Since you have to put in more than the loan amount as collateral, aren't you just paying to access your own money? For non-stablecoins that you don't want to sell, it makes more

It's not just training ourselves, it's companies training us. When people talk about dopamine hits from getting a like on a post, or feeling a buzz from an app, they are explicitly setting out to create a behavioral pattern that b

Curious what your situation is. If it was personal stuff, I would honestly just mute anyone who is too noisy, and then check in periodically. If you don't like them, well they get a large period in between check-ins :). Over time, they

In my view, if people are getting annoyed you're texting them, it's on them. They're the ones assuming you expect an immediate response, unless you're complaining about it. If you're getting annoyed about them not r

If anyone else is on the fence about the Quest 2, I received on as a gift, and it has totally blown me away. I was previously somewhat skeptical of VR, but it's so fun. FWIW, it also feels a bit _different_ than normal video games, bec

This is all ridiculous. Of course you have to test that people can code, but it doesn't follow that people must be able to code without any references available, or without using standard libraries. I can code just fine, but I still ha

Curious about the age of the person who supposedly wrote it in 6 minutes. If you're fresh out of school, "String.contains" may be top of mind, but the vast majority of people never write that function in practice, so it'

> No one evaluates your interview questions Are you saying each interviewer just makes up their own questions?! That's ludicrous if so. Where I work, we have a standardized pool, with standardized evaluation criteria.

IDK, if the interview is just a few hours of misery to get a significant financial upside, it's not such a big deal. People always assume the job will be miserable too, but that varies from team to team. Especially because the salary i

They're doing pilots in my city where there are just chargers next to some of the street parking spaces. They use one of the major EV networks, so you can use the app to get an alert when it's free, and people cycle through.

I just compared, and that's a route where having the long range Tesla makes a big difference. With the long range, the charging is reduced by around 30 minutes, so it only adds 30 compared to the ICE car, and only requires one charging

2 hours is only like 100 miles of driving. Wouldn't it make more sense to run the battery down further, since charging is faster at a lower state of charge?

I don't see how this could be true, Tesla is way ahead of everyone in terms of charging infrastructure. The Mach-E and Id.4 both look like good cars, but Electrify America is still smaller, and having some growing pains. I think Tesla

If you're in the US, this comment really makes no sense to me, unless you live in or visit rural areas very frequently. Teslas are practical EVs right now for those who can afford them. Most charging happens at home, and there are plen

Hasty Googling gives a bitrate of 85 Mbps for 8k video streaming with HEVC. Presumably if a physical media comes out, it would be closer to 400 Mbps if it was a similar compression ratio as 4k. I'm not sure what the bitrate of volumetr

I have gigabit now, and barely need it. It’s nice to have for the occasional large download, but otherwise it’s unnecessary. Even the latest ultra hd Blu-ray spec tops out at 128mb/s, and Netflix won’t give you more than 25. Can’t imag

I agree with this, but those things have also moved from essentially being artisanal to being more formalized and scientific. I don't think we're at that point in software engineering.
