This would only be a problem if you currently spend every waking hour working effectively. It is now 7:18am my time, and I already worked out for an hour, mostly lifting weights. I didn't cut into my work time at all and I'll be

Up to this point, nothing in Aphyr's history has suggested he'd be a biased tester. When he tested Riak, he was invited to Ricon to give the results for the world to see live. Much of the Basho engineers at the time were personal

Of course if you care about speed at all, you will stay away from Go's mutex's. Time your own code, it is shocking how slow they are. I haven't published my own test times, but with a quick search here's an example of

They aren't even in the same ballpark. Hell, Google isn't even in the same ballpark as AWS and Google made $83million in the time it took me to read the article. DO is great, but doesn't belong in the same sentence as AWS.

As much of a fan of Erlang and Riak as I am, you did make the right call. If you only have one or two people on the team who want to know that technology, then it isn't a smart move to base a core piece of technology on it (Erlang) ju

Having used both, I don't think Go and Erlang are even close in comparison. Go's lack of go routine isolation and error handling will never allow it to properly handle the problems Erlang was designed for without a lot of defensi
