Adding an anecdote I'm one of those newcomers having rediscovered rails a few months ago after all the buzz around version 8. I just got done porting https://www.skatevideosite.com (and our custom admin panel) from svelteki

VX1000 was peak camera in skateboarding. The one modern camera that seems somewhat close has been the whatever Lumix that the dudes at April Skateboards use. It's hd but has a 4:3 ratio and looks VX like in my opinion https:/

I've been rocking dual Pycharm w/ Vim bindings plus a neovim setup and bounce between. The only thing preventing me from going 100% neovim is Pycharm's python debugger. I have setup neovim-dap[0] with all the related plugins,

I thought the same. I evaluated the "big 3" (Laravel, Django, Rails) last year and decided to go all in on Rails for solo side web projects. Was really wanting to like Django since I'm a python dev for my day job, but it didn

Our (the states) reliance on car central culture is killing us in more ways than one. I grew up in the suburbs and you could easily go a week without substantially interacting with people. Jump in your metal capsule, drive 7 mins to Walmart

Personal anecdote, I recently got interested in rails again in the last 2 months after not touching it for 10 years. Like other commenters have said, the Hotwire stack plus the new “solid” stack of database adapters is really cool. The gene

I got Pertussis at 16 (DTaP only lasts 10 yesrs), it was the scariest disease I’ve had in my 30 year life. I coughed so hard I cracked ribs, and also couldn’t catch my breath after coughing (hence “whooping cough”) that I passed out a few t
