I find I'm most productive by postponing heavy browser usage until later in the day. So I start by postponing mindless browsing until then. When trying to avoid distractions, I only open my browser for a specific tasks and close it whe

What do you mean about the images and files, specifically? If embedding images within an org file, it is super easy, just do ‘[[file://image/path.jpg]]’ and run M-x org-toggle-inline-images (i think that’s the command). My or

I use Emacs with Termux on Android. You can use the volume buttons as modifier keys, so it’s not so bad. Other solutions like Orgzly and Beorg exist, but I haven’t tried them personally.

Perhaps you know this, but other curious readers may not: it's worth noting (perhaps in an org-file) that properties such as tags, priorities and timestamps allow you to catalogue and access information without using the tree structure

I agree. I spend a lot of time trying to develop what I (internally) refer to as 'micro' habits. So, needless to say, thanks for the book rec! Sounds like just what I need.

I wanted to try the first one but did not feel comfortable entering a phone number (it seemed counterproductive and kind of ironic). As for the second link, it turned up nothing for me. I’m not sure if that says more about my online habits

Vim is a text editor, emacs is more like an IDE for your OS that works best when lived in. So they aren’t exactly directly comparable. But, +1 for emacs.
