I'm conflicted by your comment. Against Ukraine's army ? Absolutely, you're right. Against a modern 2023 western army ? Their loss in equipment downgraded them severely.

Russia maybe have the numbers, but the troops and equipment they're fielding today in Ukraine is not equal to what they were fielding two years ago.

Sadly for Carthage, in that era Rome's main strenght was its ability to take aburd losses and then just recruit back a giant army right after. There is quite a number of times where they lost a % of their army / populace similar t

Think about what the code looks like. What you say about the log isn't true. A log is also the restore. The database must make sure that if it's written to the log, it's written to the database, and vice versa. Both for resto

It fine for a simple write scenario, but we ask a lot more from our databases. What if there are triggers? Those could do slower updates. What about indexes? What about foreign keys? Anderson what about hardware failure? A log to be able to

I can't wait for a "Mail" app that can't be properly removed, and keep restarting itself with the computer just to nag you to upgrade from the tray, like they did with One Drive.

I genuinely don't understand how you can come to this conclusion. If I open the door to someone and allow them to take picture inside my house, there is no legal understanding that they are now allowed to make and keep a copy of my key

The key is in "on the surface". While the common usage of sudo is fairly straightforward, you me and most people use like 5% of it. The trick is in all the side shows.

Agreed, as someone who needs to travel a lot worlwide, in cities where the hotel business is very active airbnb is systematically terrible. It might be cheaper, but you will wish you spent the extra bucks.
