Yeah that works pretty well too. I think there’s some minor advantages of having them in apps, they’re sorted neatly in the admin, you’re forced to split views, models, templates, admin, etc together which keeps things a bit cleaner. But it

I would add to this list: convert your template engine to Jinja2. I held out for a long time on this, and now I would not go back. The purist approach ("keep logic out of templates") sounds good, but in practice leads to spaghetti

I used to build everything with one giant “monoapp” and completely ignore that aspect of Django, which worked pretty well. Eventually though you need to split up your models into multiple files, and then your views, and admin, and so on, an

It doesn’t really “regurgitate code” all that much in practice though. It’s a super impressive product and these arguments seem more like people looking for an excuse to hate new, scary technology.

Depends how you define “real”. It’s a standard issue affiliate marketing site that recommends products according to deals they have with manufacturers: https://www.xdesk.com/wirecutter-standing-desk-review-pay-to...

Here’s a cool trick that popped up here a while ago: https://bionic-reading.com/ It seems that if you bold the first half of every word, it’s much easier to read quickly.

Static site generators (Jekyll, Hugo) are one example. Sometimes you can get away with markdown but often you end up marking up pages of text.

I am using it with traditional Django + Jinja2 for templating now which is working well. With {% macro %} you basically get fully reusable “components” on the backend so there’s limited copy pasting of tailwind classes.
