> It's like getting an astrophysics degree in hopes of getting a job in the telescope industry Which seems perfectly reasonable? I reckon most astrophysicists could work in the “telescope industry” just fine, and their background in

To be fair, Mehdi is clear that he didn’t invent the program. > The 5×5 workout is a strength and muscle building program that’s been around for over 60 years. > It’s not clear who invented the 5×5 workout. The first person to write a

I think this is very likely. It seems like OpenAI is throwing everything at trying to get GPT4 to scale, and this is one of the things they’re experimenting with.

Starting strength is good but Rippetoe is very old school and the community has some cultish vibes. He is totally inflexible about any slight variation like high bar squats and trap bar deadlifts, which are great exercises and often better.

For what it’s worth, the same thing happened to me and after about 4 or 5 rounds of take a selfie, get approved, get instantly banned again I was finally approved for good. And it has worked ever since.

It’s slightly mechanically advantageous but probably not safer. Unless you’re a powerlifter where the weight actually matters I think the general advice to maintain a neutral back is better.

It’s definitely not. Our prompts that were generating JSON output went from around 95% valid JSON to about 10% overnight. The model just started inserting random commentary. We’ve reverted to the 0314 model and it’s working fine again.

The “useless cat” meme needs to die. Everyone is aware that most commands accept a file argument, but looking up the arguments and their ordering is annoying and using cat for things like this is just fine.

It creeps me out when the clipboard is unexpectedly shared between my phone and computer. And since the feature seems to turn on randomly but not reliably when I want it to, I’d rather it just didn’t exist.

This is actually one of the long term effects of these LLMs that I’m most excited about. Once “sounding smart” becomes a commodity, and anyone can whip up a 300 page smart-sounding report in 5 minutes, it’s a whole lot less valuable. Indust

Semi related, one of the most useful functions of chatgpt I’ve found is describing something you don’t know the word for. It’s helped me find stuff many times that I would never have found otherwise just by knowing what to search for.
