This preprint is actually a companion paper to their already published paper in Nature where they do not stratify by age and sex together. In principle this is bad because we know already very well that it affects more young men. I think th

If you got Pfizer, your risk is lower than Moderna for myocarditis. Fairly similar to COVID-19 itself according to this paper. There is also pericarditis and cardiac arrhythmia that they covered in their original paper https://ww

Based on the current evidence, you will also most likely spread it less. The difference is not huge but is there.

It has reduced the transmission way more than a little bit. It depends on the viral load you are being it with and your antibody levels. mRNA vaccines are able to induce antibodies in mucus but you are right, nasal vaccines MIGHT do better

This has been already determined and result is - virus causes more arm than vaccination. As for boosters - US is not Israel that could vaccinate all their 16-17 in one week if they see that virus has started to cause a lot harm. It would be

Now how many people where there vaccinated with mRNA vaccines in South-Africa? I propose that if there would have been more, we would possibly not have this variant. We do not see new variants popping up in highly vaccinated areas.

Well, this is what CDC claims https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd/polio/hcp/effectiveness-dur... Yes, I know about this mutated live vaccine. It for sure looked like a great idea on paper.

Even when true, deadliness is just one part of the problem. The second part is transmissibility. Flu is not highly transmissible, it has R0 = 1.3 only. This means that 75% of the population will be not affected by. It can only kill 0.025% o

Obviously you were not truly vaccinated when you got COVID-19... Joking aside, this is very bad communication that has caused a lot of trouble as it creates a very easy to attack straw man for anti-vaxxers.

For me a clear separation is spreading false information about vaccine effectiveness and safety. I could not see how any US approve COVID-19 vaccine for 16-17 year old is causing more hearth issues than COVID-19 does - quite opposite appear

I know only one vaccine that might have 100% efficacy after 4 shots. It is polio vaccine. COVID-19 has been so far a scourge - when we get enough people vaccinated in developed countries, another variant appears from developing countries. T

They try to learn from experience with Delta - better early than late - it will save lives. If 3 doses does not give enough protection against Omicron then it would be stupid to wait more.

You are clearly wrong about "fire and forgot". It may feel to you like this because you do not recall that for most vaccines multiple shots are needed for sufficient immunity and most of the viruses do not mutate away like SARS-Co

If your likelihood to get infected is lower then you are less likely to retransmit but it is even more nuanced as this because viral load dynamics are a little different for vaccinated and non-vaccinated.
