Thanks for sharing Toshi. I've been very interested in Cosmic DE recently and have been playing with it with a Virtual machine. Will definitely try Toshi tonight! I used to use Windows and using control key for everything was leading m

Thanks for your effort. I still have one of those early ARM based Windows machines: HP Envy X2. While I rarely use it, when I do the instant-on still works pretty flawlessly. That is after running a few hours of Windows updates! I'm in

I'm confused a bit by this. For instance, Gemini was struggling to write proper Java code for using Firebase Admin SDK. It would write Java code using methods that only exist in the JavaScript SDK. And when I would correct it, it would

What I was hoping to see from your post was some stats showing Waymo incidents where Waymo is at fault. I'm not actively following this stuff, but after some googling it's hard to find anything. There's tons of links with cli

Personally I can't wait until Waymo reaches the east coast. Within the past year, my neighbor was hit in a crosswalk pushing a baby stroller (minor injuries to mom and baby, but could have been much worse). And while walking my daughte

I'm interpreting what you described as a derivative work to be something like: "Create a video of a girl running through a field in the style of Studio Ghibli ." There, someone has specifically prompted the AI to create some

I've just started this journey. I always wanted to get into electronics and robotics, but instead went the software route. I've picked up an Arduino and microbit over the years, but they sit collecting dust. It may sound silly, bu

Yeah that first example is rather poor. And it uses the word boilerpate to seemingly refer to the stuff unrelated to the async code (class declaration, exception handling, main method). I don't use Java async much, but I guess if you h

My interpretation was it was replaced with the identity function (e.g. just returning the original value). But it's only replaced if the code is determined to be a hot spot. So it would work correctly until the code was in a tight loop

I gave Clojure a shot some years ago and even wrote an important tool used daily by all employees at our company in Clojure. The problem for me was maintenance. If I had to make any change to that code, I had to dive into the REPL just to u

Thanks. I'm using it for a side project now and have my own layout library which I may consider open sourcing. I started to question if I made the wrong decision if OpenPDF had more momentum!

I thought most were using Apache PDFBox these days. Anyone have any thoughts on how the two libraries compare in 2025? I'm particularly interested in programatic creation of PDFs. I know historically PDFBox is a bit lower level whereas

From what I read elsewhere (random reddit comment), the visible reasoning is just "for show" and isn't the process deepseek used to arrive at the result. But if the reasoning has value, I guess it doesn't matter even if

I think it's both. I never switched on 120hz refresh rate on my phone because 60hz never bothered me. I also know, if I switch to 120hz I won't be able to view 60hz phones anymore without it bothering me! But there's some thi
