Forcing Atlassian products on your engineers IS poor project management.

Redmine does it just fine. And is way faster. Anything you're thinking of that Jira can "do" while Redmine can't is not needed to make your widget. GUARANTEED.

I actually do think it's a jira issue. The death knell of your software engineering team's culture and Real productivity is when the company hires an outsider "engineering manager" whose sole job is to pretend to care ab

I used it for many years. Not worth it. That's different from a site actively preventing you from accessing a results section you know is there. It's not like you can go to "forums.google.com" like you can with "ima

There was a post on HN not too long ago about a random 3rd party/open source tool that does exactly this, no? When I first heard about Recall AI, I immediately thought back to that HN article, but can't find it.

It's exactly this. Development of a feature like this surely started during the WFH craze, where managers could no longer casually walk behind people who had to have their monitors facing outwards. A market opened up, and this is not t

I don't really care what engine is used. Bad javascript between sites raises the noise floor above browser/engine speed differences, and ads and trackers do the same wrt site functionality. I want Safari for the OS integrations an

uBO isn't just about ads, and the mechanisms Stopthemadness uses should be readily available to me without having to install an app-store blessed plugin, for monies.

Wish I could use Safari with uBO, so that I could use Safari. Tired of feature fragmentation in 3rd party software, but equally tired of ostensible limitations in 1st party software that try to control and prevent every single edge case use

Indexing is INHERENT to a 2D document/file. It doesn't need to be indexed or categories. It can hold ALL the information you want to peruse and compare in a given moment. You just, simply look around and view it! - willy wonka

I genuinely think scrolling is more tedious. Have you visited any of apple's product pages lately? Makes me yarf. EDIT: At least restaurant menu sites aren't that bad yet. Can you imagine? "Hamburger. Redefined." <SCR

I agree. It's a difference of O(n^2) or worse for drill-downs, and O(log n) for a pinch and zoom.

I strongly disagree. Pinching and zooming a locally cached file that contains all the information the user wants is O(n) to perhaps O(log n), while navigating menus is O(n^2). I would settle for a single, zoomable html page.

No thank you. I just want all the whitespace to take a hike. I certainly don't need this layout if webdevs are just going to put all the content on the center 1/3 to 1/4 of my screen.
