But think about this: if you're a startup founder, you can get co-founders for so much cheaper and more easily. If your buddy and you both know you have UBI, you can start a business without risking that much. The next hires can be lur

This must be a pretty localized experience since so many professionals I see use Nikon, Canon, and Sony in sport, wedding, and product shoots. I would even say the opposite-the only judgement I had for camera brand was from a Nikon pro when

Should public health officials weigh in on all issues? Yes. In my home state, every bill before the legislature has a financial assessment tied t it, because most laws cost money. The same should be true for health: we should figure out if

The legislative process is not the only feedback system that is enshrined in the US constitution, else there would be no mention of public gatherings or protests. What you suggest is a false dichotomy.

I encourage you to not read the news so much if you actually feel this way. Talk to some older folks too-they’ll tell you about the way it was only 30-40 years ago. Almost everything is so much better today. The world is so much wealthier,

Where do you get the $100/lb? Just extending it to passenger flights, a cross country trip costs $250 (LA to NYC) and most passengers are > 100 lbs, so it’s $2.50/lb for even the most expensive passenger. Last/first mile f

I don’t think jail is the solution to this or many other problems that we imprison people for on a regular basis. I understand the anger at watching someone lie and get away with it, but fines and clawbacks are a great fit for those types o

I'm surprised that you think this is a solution - this won't solve anything besides making it easier for management to blame engineers because it doesn't target the people making the ultimate judgement call - the leadership.

If you believe that the tragedy of the Vietnam war was due to one man, I have a bridge to sell you. The sheer hyperbole of saying that greatest disaster in American history was a single man should make you immediately question the speaker.

I don't really think it was as dramatic as you're making it sound - the Ford Falcon sold 1 million cars in the first two years, and the Ford Mustang sold 1 million cars in 18 months. The Falcon continued to be sold for years after

My guess is that they want to sell two things: Azure and Windows Phone via Xamarin. Say open-sourcing .NET convinces a team or a startup to write their new app in C#. When it comes time to deploy to production, maybe they'll use Azure.
