Not the prior poster, but it seems like you’re missing his point? From my perspective, I’m far, far more uncomfortable about authenticating through my bank than providing a credit card number - that feels like I’m potentially granting a bad

Ha, this reminds me of getting my first ISP account cancelled when I exceeded their web hosting bandwidth limit. The limit was 150 MB (I think per month? This was 1995, but even for back then, that seems awfully low…), and my pages racked u

Correct. The “small/limited government” state legislature took away all sorts of rights from individual communities’ self-determination - involving things like running elections (but only in counties above a certain population size, me

Sorry to nitpick (I have one of your products and have generally been quite pleased with it), but where do you explain this? I only get one unrelated article in your knowledge base searching for “MQTT” and don’t see anything in a quick web

Somehow, at some point in the last few months, I found myself reading a portion of a mid-1960s Federal Register that included capsule summaries of various small-bore enforcement actions the FTC took against misleading advertisers in the pri

I am fairly sure I don’t have aphantasia, but for me there’s no visual component to daydreaming - it’s purely just zoning out and later realizing I’d lost track of time. It’s so interesting to hear about how other people’s minds work totall

I personally could have been on board with a remake with the original cast (though the original was already about aging and maturity, so I don’t think the passage of yet another generation would have been all that compelling of a story), bu

United offered “chicken and quinoa” and “tofu and pasta” on a nine-hour flight. I assume they thought the choices sounded sophisticated or something. The chicken was literally frozen (up to and including the time that it was served to the e

You sound far better acquainted with the facts on the ground, so I defer to your assessment. But “river activist indifferent to land” being a position held by someone out there is not something I find terribly difficult to imagine.

Sounds like your geography is very similar to mine, fellow gulf coaster/swamp dweller. I know my house sits on a bunch of piles as well, though I don’t know how deep they go. I would guess it’s likely less than 50’, though maybe not.

Is there a reason why you favor 500’ below ground level? My naive initial reaction is that seems like tremendous overkill in 99% of applications. Presumably in the vast majority of urban areas, 50’ would be more than enough to avoid any and
