Lately I've been doing all my personal coding in C and/or scheme (guile). It's a fun stack and I love the "timelessness" of both languages -- code examples from books written in the 80's, or old libraries, stil

I might be doing this treatment at some point since I failed Ipi and PD-1. -- What were the long-term side effects for you? -- Have you had neurological/memory problems since? Congrats on the success :)

Edx courses are fantastic. I found them to be the most intellectually satisfying, where other sites kind of water down the same subject.

Were they irrelevant? -- I see plenty doom and gloom in my history books and, hell, twitter feed. It was just a few decades ago that 80 million people died in a single war.

For me it's Simpson's paradox: it throws everyone off -- it's caused (and will continue to cause) real-world damage, it's everywhere once you see it -- it's in how newspapers report science, it's in our socia

Hi, I'm Regular User Steve. I use Chrome because Google told me it connects faster to the Internet or uses less data or something. Last year someone gave me a virus with Gmail so this time around I got a Mac because the guy at the stor

Agree with all your points... I really hope these are addressed because Julia would actually make a fantastic general-purpose language. I really wish there was something like a high-performance Elixir out there... which is basically lisp wi

If I understand this correctly, does it not imply that there is a class of statements/ideas which Penrose (or I) can deduce, but which cannot be algorithmically proved? - If so my next question is: what is an example of such a statemen

Dropbox is just one of the best examples out there of everything that makes a software product solid: do one thing, do it well, don't bother the user, and be profitable. * It 100% "just works" on all my devices (Mac, Linux,

This is why I love used books. My copy of Schopenhauer's collected essays has gone through 4 owners since 1914, all 4 of whom have signed and dated the front cover, all of 4 of whom have marked and underlined at different spots (includ
