I'm a fairly professional creative myself and have been using Surface products to do my work for the last 4~ years almost exclusively. Heavy Photoshop work, lots of video editing, 3D modeling & rendering, etc. Sure, I'd love t

I left Facebook a couple years ago and Twitter a couple weeks ago. I used both somewhat successfully to promote my work for a long time. I find it remarkable how much better my life feels already. I have so much more focus, energy, and conc

Awesome stuff. Would love to see concept artists incorporating procedural generated assets in their workflow. Produce 100 samples like this, teach the computer which ones they prefer, produce 100 more, take a few and refine them by hand.

3x meals a day feels absolutely preposterous for any sedentary profession. There's just no need to eat that much (or that often) unless you have an actually physically demanding job.

I think the study and practice of fundamental techniques is directly tied to training your creative side. But they're also independent skills, in a sense. I see far too many young artists who focus solely on technique, at the detriment

I was pleased to see Dreamhost (who I use) offering free Let's Encrypt for any domain bought/hosted with them. Quick & easy setup. Would love to see other registrars/hosts do the same.

I'm not teaching people to do art like mine--I'm teaching them representational art as a whole. The fundamentals of those skills can be used to take your work in just about any direction you'd like. If someone doesn't wa

Thanks! And yeah, I considered many times to switch over to a subscription model. But I wasn't convinced that the numbers would actually net higher than what I was doing here. I've got a friend/"competitor" in the s

So they tried to keep a customer? It's not like they refused to do it outright. They just tried to convince him to stay. Cool. Y'all remember trying to cancel those AOL trials back in the day? Now _that_ was a nightmare.

It's mentioned in the article, but I'll go ahead and second the recommendation to read Art & Fear. If you ever make anything of any sort, you'll probably get a lot out of it.

Speaking as an artist who uses the Surface Pro 3 for all of my work, an iPad Pro will be useless without the right software. And as great as Procreate might be, it's not Photoshop and will never be Photoshop. Without the ability to run
