So, on one hand I understand that people visiting foreign countries are expected to follow the laws of that country. Plenty of tourists have been severely punished (or worse, executed) in places like Singapore and Indonesia for drug offence

The whole article reminded me of a segment on QI. You can tell that Fry would enjoy this fact and the rest joke about a snarky Caesar.

Obviously yes. That was a generalization more directed at the author than a blanked statement. Obviously there are groups which could be under great hardship should certain candidates take over.

Unless you are under threat of violence or severe economic hardship, I don't understand the purpose of leaving your native country because you disagree with the elected leader. Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the real

I believe this stuff is contained in the EULA you've already agreed to, not the new EULA.

If each year your chance of dying is 0.025%, and there's no relationship between subsequent years, wouldn't the chance remain 0.025% even after thousands of years? (since what we're talking about is the probability of indepen

I think these are good insights for anyone travelling abroad, especially those later in the career doing so for professional reasons. It does no one any good to approach another country with a bias towards the experiences you've had in

Reminds me a lot of mynoise.net, which provides hundreds of sounds and multiple channels for each. Although the UI here is much easier to use.

They are very similar. Tower has less of git's features as well when compared to SourceTree. It is though much much faster and definitely more stable.

Great little anecdote, although I guess you'd call it a hoax? The volume would have to be so loud that any human in the area would be in a great deal of discomfort before it killed nearby chickens.

More often than not a client will require some kind of robust charting or graphing functionality so it always ends up as a license for Highcharts.js or similar. Purchasing bespoke but robust functionality, that would be really hard to make

I find it startling that, with the current terms of copyright, no music I'm listening to today or even in the last decade will be in the public domain before I die.

Why on earth does this site attempt to remotely log you in to WordPress? It was completely jarring to have the WordPress bar appear above the site. EDIT: Seems they are using the WordPress.com VIP service. That explains that.
