Does this have an embedded microphone for audio input? I quickly skimmed the tech specs and it looks like the answer is "no" (presumably if you want that, the intention is that you use AirPods/some other Bluetooth input devic

"intern" doesn't qualify as hell in my books, because they still make a very decent salary - far better than your average graduate in most other fields.

Way too far in the opposite direction IMO. I did love the series (well, right up until the last two episodes, when it was clear they ran out of money to actually conclude things properly) but it was as slow as molasses.

+1 for this, when I was coming in as a complete newb to neural networks, this was the clearest and most accessible material I found.

Except when you're an expat in a country that actually knows what it's doing, like Singapore. Bureaucracy here is A+, and is the yardstick we should measure every country against.

Finding an artist who is (1) capable, (2) reliable and (3) available is no mean feat. I can totally understand why someone would prefer to spend hours (if not days) using an AI tool.

My app [0] currently uses a mildly customized version of FastSpeech 2 [1] with LPCNet [2] vocoder, which I consider "good quality" @ 16kHz. Faster than realtime on mobile CPU (at least, on anything upwards of a mid-range 2017 devi

Irrespective of how many sides there are to the original story, why is the parent comment flagged? He did YC, but he's not in the directory - those two statements are true, no?

This is achievable with a very modest (say 50-100k) budget for voice actors and compute. Less if you’re happier with lower quality. Speech synthesis is probably one of the few areas in ML that’s trivially accessible to smaller orgs. Even St

In your made-up example, though, the SEO may build a long-term pipeline whereas the ads are one-and-done. That’s without mentioning the mentality foisted on companies to “just show user growth in the next quarter, don’t worry about profitab

Not sure if you’re looking to train your own model or just run inference on pretrained models, but if it’s the former, you can find espnet, TensorflowTTS and coqui on GitHub.

Just curious - have the worlds collided yet, with people asking voice actors to record data for training TTS models with their voice?

Just wanted to point out that ChatGPT is more than just a language model - from OpenAI's (very brief) description, it was also trained with reinforcement learning to select/rank the "best" answer [0]. I think the distinc

I actually totally disagree with this. Developer tools are probably one of the easier segments to tackle because technical people 1) like trying new things and 2) often have company credit cards that don’t have to justify expenses.

1) You wouldn’t work for payment of an unspecified amount at an indeterminate future date. “Eventual tax” is not the same as “tax now”. 2) Likewise, paying a 2022 debt in 2027 dollars makes their effective tax rate even lower. 3) I don’t g

I suppose my follow-up question is: is there a sufficiently large market for that type of game? Not just blue-sky thinking, I'm more wondering if there is proven demand, as of today. Side-note: I couldn't load the game in Safari (
