As are all the other stories. I've yet to see an sort of comprehensive statistics on app store rejections. (Which would be kind of awesome.) For the time being it's all anecdotes, and we choose to believe based on our personal histories (w

It's not a screensaver it just looks like one :) Screensavers aren't saving any screens these days - their function is merely to provide pretty pictures. And xscreensaver provides LOTS of pretty, if retro, pictures.

But the Chicago Manual of Style encourages its use - this isn’t a closed book. Which the wikipedia article points out.

The sub-article, linked to by this post is better I think: http://www.softwaretestingclub.com/profiles/blogs/should-err... And I tend to like the idea - a good percentage of the time when my small underfunded/staffed projects have encount

I personally never read my twitter stream - it’s too noisy and to much of a pain to cull. I read it by proxy prismatic, and news.me. And I mainly use it to post - for those who do read twitter, to the widget on my blog, and to Facebook. I

Have you ever done that? Does it work? I’ve always been to flustered to get a medallion number when things are going south. And I always figured that it didn’t matter anyhow.

To connect some dots that were not clear to me: The user photos, are from twitter, and are collected from links listed in your profile's about box. Simple - but it took me a minute to connect all the dots...

This was the main thing I got from this article. When I walk into a store, try something (expensive) on and leave with a picture it doesn't mean I'm buying that thing online. It means I'm going to another store down the block - expensive c

They are not obligated. However, I'm fairly sure banks aren't obligated by law to send you statements* - they certainly aren't obligated to let you download them in, say, quicken format (who could be seen as a competitor). It's just such a

In my business float is the big one - we pay our contractors at completion of work, which means if our clients pay us when they receive the goods, we’ve got to come up with the money to pay the workers before we’d gotten paid. This can get

I’ve not used Stripe, but I’ve used Braintree for a while. Braintree is an older company, and it seems to have a bigger, lower level API. Stripe’s is much higher level, and looks like it could be both simpler and easier to use. This is

Working with Lamson is a very good experience. Our Lamson project has been running for 3 years. It was fun to write, it stays up when we need it to - and it’s easy to modify when we need new features. This is the only piece of python we ha

This was my problem with file picker.io as well. The blog entry mentions donation - but I did not see that option. What I did see was a hosted service, that has a very startup-y feel. Which means to me that charging for this service is pr

My questions is of course - Why not Jekyll? Is this just for people who have a JVM, but don't have ruby on their box, or are there significant advantages other than just the programming language and environment?

I like the content - but not the tone - it’s just a bit too snarky to send to a designer that you have to work with. Particularly if she’s getting much of it right - and you’ve clashed over this stuff before.
