I would not say that the system disproportionately affects non-white Americans. I would also not say that the system is biased, there's not a law, a rule, nothing, creating a bias in the system. I would also say that bias of the indivi

So, my characterization of the cop might seem like I'm victimizing him. I'm not. Your characterization of the cop just proves my point. It is not the system wide conspiracy to kill, it's that people who want to kill and are s

Still, subsidies given do not really indicate long-term sustainable food supply. The most efficient way to guarantee food for the population is by growing plants directly. If it turns out that the farmer that uses the water for his grain fe

Imagine if farmers were growing luxury vegetables like tomatoes, potatoes, beans, instead of growing several magnitudes more of cheap crappy grains that are then filtered through bodies of animals. Of course issues exist, because inefficien

These successful tests are research-level developments, just like lightning network. Bitcoin is extremely early stage technology. It'll take years for a bunch of scaling developments and blocksize is just a temporary measure.

That's why they call them fake news. They really need to tone down the emotions and improve their fact checking and concentrate the news on facts, otherwise the people will just classify them as biased, lying, conspiracy media instead

Of course, if they knew this was still early stage technology that does not even work as it is meant to be working and that a bunch of new developments are research level discoveries that take years to finetune, they would never put in that

I'm not sure you're aware of the real numbers? The amount of energy used for heating and cooling is extremely huge. Bitcoin is probably 0.0x% of that amount. Internet is 2% of the whole CO2 emissions, heating and cooling is more t

The amount of energy used on heating and cooling is several magnitudes larger than whole mining for bitcoin. It's not a monster, it just sounds ridiculously big, but Internet uses more. Airplanes use magnitudes more, even cow farts are

The amount of energy used for BTC is nothing compared to energy used for Internet. It's equivalent to 0, compared to usage for heating and cooling.

Some exchanges offer fee-less withdrawals (like Bitstamp), which makes arbitrage more profitable. I'm pretty sure they'd ban you ASAP if you're withdrawing like crazy (they are paying your fees in BTC). As for transfer times

for arbitrage you want to move all currencies, not just one. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets for example, bitcoin is now huge on bithumb, I'd buy it at bitstamp and sell it for 10% more,

Main source of instability is price manipulation by big players and market inefficiency (not easy enough to arbitrage between exchanges). It would be interesting to see them do the same thing if BTC market cap is in couple of trillions. For

Ethereum had a master node too. Other than that, yeah it's weird. Although I'm not sure why there's so many announcements of businesses like Microsoft, Fujitsu doing partnerships with IOTA. Sounds very weird and overpumped.

Yeah, I'm quite confused that there's no mention of SEARN or LOLS or similar imitation learning algorithms in the references of the Alpha Zero paper. The algorithm for learning looks severely derived from that 10 year old idea.

These bugs can be tested. You launch a testnet, and test them. There was no reason why one wouldn't run a testnet and see how fork will go after block XYZ. I'd rather have a global ledger with consensus than allow a few companies
