I'm a little biased since it's my startup, but we use Zen ( http://agilezen.com/ ). We only have a team of two, but some of our customers have sizable teams using it.

God forbid someone would charge money for a valuable service! Blasphemy! This is my all-time number one gripe about the Internet. Users too often feel entitled to getting things for free.

That's true, you need CloudFront in order to CDN-enable your S3 buckets. It's not too much more difficult to set up, though, just need to flip a switch on the bucket.

Microsoft is forced to price Windows higher than OSX, because their product is the actual OS, whereas Apple makes their money on the hardware.

This article strikes me as a collection of weakly-defended opinions with no real references or citations on sources of information. I could easily write a post stating the exact opposite point that would read just as well.

So you're saying that, until I have the time to invest in my own branding, I can just use the Coke logo instead?

I'm not accusing the OP of anything. I was just pointing out that I took one look at the website and immediately recognized it as heavily inspired by Basecamp's design. That's all. The colors and font of the header are identical, including

Sure, our pricing page is inspired by Basecamp... and practically every other SaaS offering out there. As I said in another comment, everyone (including myself) takes inspiration from other designs, but there's a difference between taking i

I wasn't saying it's a corporate scandal or that the creator was a bad person. The problem is that 37signals didn't offer their design as a template for re-use. Everyone uses other designs as inspiration (myself included), I'm just saying y

Go look at http://basecamphq.com/ again. The layout, fonts, and styling are all clearly pulled from the marketing website.

Why in the world would my comment get down-voted? The layout and design elements are practically identical.

Wow. Your website is a very blatant ripoff of Basecamp's design. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but yours is a little over the line.

I recently found JS.Class: http://jsclass.jcoglan.com/ It provides Ruby-style inheritance patterns for Javascript. Initially I was skeptical (most of the other attempts at adding OOP structure to JS have been awful), but it's simplified m

I don't think the metaphor works very well. Cloud hosting is much more like a hotel (or a hostel), since you stay on the same "infrastructure", but you don't have a dedicated physical location. Moving between infrastructure would be a night

This article is pure ignorance, and would have played much better as a Slashdot comment. Forking is the underlying source of freedom in open source software -- if you don't like something the current managers of a project are doing, fork it

Maybe this is a dumb question, but do you have any problems with cross-browser support for that situation? I'd love to try this out in my app -- div soup is a killer.

For the record, Windows 7 isn't crippled to stop it from being used on netbooks. I run Windows 7 Ultimate on my Asus EEE 1000HE, and it works flawlessly... it's not noticeably slower than XP, and I even get all the eye candy.

If you put ASP.NET in the same class as Sharepoint or OWA, you clearly haven't ever used it. Please spare us the closed-minded "zomg micro$oft sux0rz!" comments, I can go to Slashdot for that.

More than unoriginal blogs, I hate blogs that have a list of a billion ads across the top -- particularly when more than half of them are empty squares that just say "advertise here." If you can't sell ad spots, at least don't show them to
