It wasn't the content of your comment, it was the tone. If you sound like a prick, people will downvote you regardless of whether you have a clear point. (Which, incidentally, you didn't.)

Two nearly-universal truths about users that suggest solutions: they're both rare, and usually wrong. :) It's more likely that users will state the problem -- such as, "I want to be able to run WoW and BitTorrent at the same time." From the

Not necessarily. Companies with high enough growth rates just need a line of sight to break-even to be able to go public. Now, whether you should invest in such companies is another topic entirely.

It wouldn't (at least in my understanding) be the user that would choose, it would be the application. WoW for example would optimize for latency, whereas BitTorrent would optimize for throughput.

How is this different than any other security functionality, though? Unless you plan to cipher your message yourself, you always need to trust that whatever encryption you're using works as designed.

I'm not disagreeing with anything you're saying, but if you're going to be a grammar/spelling nazi, you could at least take the time to format your comment in a reasonable fashion.

You are making wide, sweeping judgements that are almost certainly not representative of the majority of people using CoffeeScript.

I say constructive things in response to constructive things, and am summarily dismissive of comments lacking substance. Every time CoffeeScript is mentioned, there's always at least one comment like this. It's either trolling or people bei

I already know JavaScript, and prefer CoffeeScript. But thanks for sharing your irrelevant opinion, and enjoy your false sense of superiority.

Yeah, this programming stuff is really tough. How about a nice game of Farmville instead? It's normal to be frustrated when learning new things, but the savvy student recognizes the problem lies in him or herself, not in the topic they don'

Agreed. I often make it a point to swear in an interview to gauge the candidate's reaction. If swearing offends you, you wouldn't make it a day on our team. Not saying it's right, it's just the truth.

I guess I don't understand what you mean by "link directly," but NSFW links appear on the Reddit homepage often, and touching them will open the link in the app's browser. Also, (at least in Alien Blue) I can subscribe to any subreddits I w

You're right. I don't see footers on each Fry meme attributing the character to Matt Groening. And yet, when you add 24-point Impact font saying something witty, you own it all of a sudden? Give me a break. If it's fair use to put the text

Yes. My point was that there's a huge amount of effort currently being expended to do just that. No one is trying to change the fact that a wheel is round and rolls, but from there, there's quite a bit of space to innovate.
