I know of a 4.5 mile stretch of small rural road in the California foothills was recently repaved for about $400k. It would be great if the variance on these numbers were also given.

Plus childcare and eldercare. Take those and the ones you mention into account, and GDP/person has probably dropped since the 1950s.

And until very recently the US imported more than half its daily oil usage. Now it is a net exporter. The Saudis controlled the oil market. American oil from fracking has recently changed that, however, and gives the US a better chance of c

You are correct. I had 1000000000 as a trillion. Scientific notation is a much better way to calculate things. At 30mm that is a big enough layer that a geologist could see it in the rock record, if it looked different enough.

The Model-X is really like a mini-van. High price, but similar functionality. Seats five adults + two kids. Maybe Tesla will drop the price over time. I think Elon Musk built it as the car he would want to take his family around in. He late

This is impressive, but just one meter of dirt covering the surface of the earth is about 1.2 million trillion tons. 30 trillion tons would create a layer about 0.03mm thick. Invisible in a geologic sense.

Your brokerage software could make this easy. E-Trade could have a feature where you can buy/sell the S&P500, Russel2000, or total US index. You put in the total amount to invest and it does the rest.

With free trades (now in everywhere) and fractional share purchases(robinhood), I think buying your own S&P500 fund would be possible with little capital ($1000?), and easy if your broker set up the software on their system to do that.

I would say this does solve the problem. If you have enough money for your vote to matter, then you can just own all the stocks in an index yourself and get to vote. This is now even more practical as trade costs have recently been cut to z
