That's what happens when your executives vindictively outsource important software to the cheapest devshop they can find. You end up with a product being built by a team that by default has no sense of ownership. https://www

From a technical point of view yes, your own hosted static site is way more efficient, you have more control over the stack, scaling, better metrics, security etc, etc. From a business point of view it's more like...who the f*ck cares

There has to exist a difference between victim-blaming and people screwing up at their jobs. In the case of the SolarWinds attack, their management seemed to be quite technical and the attacker was just too strong/sophisticated, so Sol

I think Toronto should deffinitely pay for new more efficiently built housing. In my opinion it's better to let Google benefit than random offshore entities that are hoarding the majority of the empty new apartments in the city. Also,

I disagree with that, i think the various mix of cheap insecure IP-cameras present on any small store and elsewhere poses a far greater privacy risk than a well managed and frequently audited system one would expect from google. The cheap s

No it's not, the business product had the exact same spyware-like behaviour issues acting up after you'd uninstall it on MacOS. They had to push an entire mac security update just for that fix.

It's a psychological matter, the more increased publicity the higher the likely hood of an illogical backclash against the person, especially if they live in places where the rule of law doesn't protect them well.

I really appreciate you reporting this, and understand that it's too late now but you should try to keep your source anonymous in a cases like this in case they get bad publicity where they live.

I think you just hit upon the most overlooked factor here, storage hardware. You can get an order of magnitude of benefit from moving to NVMe. Especially when you look at nvme benchmarks using small files , they can be over 10 times faster

Hate to break it to the author, but npm has been a raging dumpster-fire for over 4 years now. My personal advice on how to live with it: - Assume you will have to rewrite your app in a year or less from now and organize it as such. This won

I'm not entirely sure, it looks like for Skylake CPUs the L3 cache is no longer inclusive but instead acts as an extension of the per core L2 cache. https://www.anandtech.com/show/11550/the-intel-skylakex-revi

Yeah that is true, you are sharing L3 cache. In order to mitigate some of recent intel issues I think AWS actuallly has their own chip now on newer motherboards to handle the hypervisor duties securely. Otherwise, they'd do it in softw
