I'm so curious what an example set of queries actually looks like here. Like - what were the actual prompts used!

They're global companies, not American ones. EU consumers lose out by Apple's decision. If you want to trade in Europe you've gotta pay by the antitrust rulebook.

The fragmented state of the microcontroller market is pretty dire. Especially as there's more higher-level features being baked in to modern micros, every different manufacturer is implementing different APIs to do the same basic thing

Yup. This is the case in the UK too. You're not allowed to be drunk and drive, but you're absolutely allowed to have a can of beer while driving. This surprised me when going to the States - there's nothing stopping you from

Unclear on exactly what this has to do with the headline - this was an old AD from 2023 regarding icing.

A lot of 48V infrastructure comes from the marine world - where 4 x 12V lead-acid batteries in series is common for this reason. So a lot of components already exist and can be made to work in the automotive sector with simple modifications

Yes, this is exactly what it does, and it's a very clever trick by Netflix to discourage their traffic from being throttled!

This is the whole point of a FLUSH though. You expect latency penalties and worse performance (and extra pages) if you flush, but that's the expected behaviour: not for it to (apparently) completely disregard the command while pretend

The thing that always strikes me with these kinds of demos is how absurdly efficient old OSs were / had to be. It's obviously not an apples to apples comparison, as modern operating systems have to handle a lot more, but even Wind

This is a great example of economics at work. Large-scale electricity storage solutions reduce the need for generating capacity from peak load to average load - reducing the demand by the crest factor of the grid. The majority of this extra

The thinned array curse only applies when all the sources are coherent - with the modulation system they describe, this is not the case.

As someone who's designed a product that's legitimately meant to unlock cars over the CAN bus, I'll be sad when encrypted/authenticated CAN communications become the norm! Users should be able to connect to the CAN bus i

I often end up giving the opposite unpopular opinion: RPis are overkill for a lot of DIY IoT uses. Want to have something that opens your curtains or flashes some RGB lights in your hallway or whatever? Pick yourself up an Arduino / ES

I'm not sure it should just be 3! ISPs should be held responsible (and able to) selectively block DDoS traffic originating from their customers. Especially with the proliferation of symmetric gigabit+ connections...

Again "fall detected" is quite un-human and mechanical. Is this a technical term? Who/what fell? Are you talking about the season? I think the existing Apple language is good and has clearly been through a lot of discussion!

Or keep the voltage high and step down with a buck converter in each socket as needed and negotiated with the device: there's a good argument to use ~300VDC as a future home electrics design. High-power devices (water heaters etc) will

The title is misleading - this requires all ISPs in the UK to ban anyone from visiting rt.com, not just "designated persons". And indeed it works - I'm in the UK and trying to visit that website times out on mobile or cable b
