There are plenty of artefacts that belong to countries who are not in the middle of war. Many stolen artefacts were in fact destroyed or damaged during their shipping to France or Britain. We don't need to go to extremes here, just do

Maybe something to do in order to tackle overcrowding in museums is to start returning some of the exhibits back to their origins. The Louvre and the British museum hold a lot of antiquities that were shipped from other countries during col

I don't think that most people realise what an achievement this is. This is major, three boosters landing simultaneously and one of them is landing on a moving object in the middle of the ocean. And they will reuse the two side booster

Truly amazing stuff! SpaceX deserves all the credit. Three boosters landing is an amazing feat.

A collection of command line tools is something we tried years ago and didnt work very well unfortunatelly. Tempted to go down the REST server route.

I think I prefer the RESTful API idea more than anything because it could keep the architecture decoupled. The only thing that worries me is having issues installing this to client desktops. A lot of our clients are banks and insurance comp

Thanks. I am looking at something similar with Segment to be honest. Bitscoop looks closer to what I am looking but definitely need something fully open source.

I 've been working partly from home in the English countryside and partly from our offices in London for many years now. Definitely wouldn't want to go back to working 100% from an office. There are disadvantages of course working

I really hope things change for the better. Being from the north of Greece I know first hand the difficulties with the name. I am very passionate about it but I understand we live in a different world. My feeling is that the Greek governmen

I've been binge watching Bourdain on Netflix over the last few days. Really really strange to watch one more tonight knowing he is now dead. Very sad news indeed!

From people I spoke to everyone seems concerned with what might happen. It is possible nothing bad happens at all but people cannot trust MS after what happened to a lot of the companies they acquired in the past.

Ooohhh my favourite game of all time. I loved this game, I almost missed my university exams for this. I know a friend of mine who actually didn't speak to his girlfriend for a couple of weeks since he was playing the game.

Like Porsche or Siemens did for the Nazis for example. Nothing wrong there. I wonder how you would feel and what you would say if you were on the other end of these weapons e.g an innocent Afghan civilian.

Prog metal and death metal are my favourites. It is true, growing up in the 80s it would be inevitable but a lot of my school friends were listening to pop music. I think there is definitely a pattern with CS and metal. Not sure why.

I am in my 40s, love metal and football is also boring. Is there a pattern here considering the audience of HN?

I think I would like to see in web design tools some of the principles that people like Alan Kay and Bret Victor laid out over the years. I work in React and I often think that there is a big disconnect with my team and the designers. I do

Hey I am so glad this is working. I talked with you via reddit when you first started working on the project. It looks like it has grown dramatically over the years. Well done!

Nice attempt, I looked into this problem too a while ago. Quick question for the OP, I know a lot of enterprise users want to version control their spreadsheets rather than just the code. Have you looked into that? Seems to be a tricky prob

Wish we could see more software being developed like Bret does it. Been looking for years and still haven’t encountered anything with that degree of freedom and flexibility. His platform game demo is amazing!

I find it hard to see how this kind of voyage could be done with a trireme however in Hellenistic times they were building much larger ships like the Tesseraconter http://www.naval-encyclopedia.com/hellenistic-ships/ .
