Maybe something to do in order to tackle overcrowding in museums is to start returning some of the exhibits back to their origins. The Louvre and the British museum hold a lot of antiquities that were shipped from other countries during colonial times.
- magduf 7y agoIf you do that, those things will likely be destroyed. Do you really think that shipping artifacts back to Syria is going to result in those artifacts lasting for centuries more?
- ninjamayo 7y agoThere are plenty of artefacts that belong to countries who are not in the middle of war. Many stolen artefacts were in fact destroyed or damaged during their shipping to France or Britain. We don't need to go to extremes here, just do the right thing.

India and China, sure. >Many stolen artefacts were in fact destroyed or damaged during their shipping to France or Britain. How recent was this? If this happened in the age of sailboats, then I'm not going to hold it against those countries now; of course shipping back in those days was a lot more dangerous.
