Erlang's style per-process garbage collection requires (or at least favors) passing messages by value between processes. Both Go and Rust - being relatively low level - prefer passing pointers (references) rather than the data itself. Thi

There are actually two difficulties here: 1. The problem in hand may not have a good solution . This is especially true of research type problems. You have to pick the right one, otherwise it can be a frustrating experience. This is where

Too many very similar or related courses... I'd love to take Norvig's course, but am already committed to Coursera's "Design and Analysis of Algorithms". Came here to recommend it. Tim Roughgarden is an excellent instructor and the videos a

I think the bottom line is that the author is used to working with Debian and thus perceives differences between OS X and Debian as bugs. It is true that jumping between Linux and OS X can be difficult at times. It's also true that Debian

Trouble is, lots of nontrivial bugs are not module (or file) specific. The occur due to interaction between modules. Implicit assumptions on input are violated, invalid output is produced and continues propagating in the system. [Hope thi

Apple may eventually disable loading of executables which are not cryptographically signed . At this point, you'll have to resort to kernel patches to bypass that mechanism and load non-authorized applications. Hopefully, Apple will leave
