It's based on Chromium which uses Blink as its rendering engine, which was forked off WebKit (which was derived from KDE's KHTML and now powers Apple's Safari). Opera is also based on Blink.

Bugs I have seen in actual code are divided into two types: those that are due to the way code inter-operates with other code (sort of integration bugs) and tricky bugs (usually edge cases) in some highly dense code. The first type requires

One company sent me (before the interview) a small technical assignment. After I had submitted the code, an interview was scheduled. The entire interview was an extended code review -- talking about trade-offs, about other potential solutio

Why fault? If Facebook is internally transparent and allows all/most of the employees access to all internal documents -- that's good transparency and good company culture in my eyes. It does put a lot of responsibility on employe

Not sure about Huawei, but Samsung is not using their own modem in all of the phones they make. I'm not sure what % but they do use Qualcomm's modem in at least some of the models. 3G is based on CDMA technology (wideband CDMA)

One behavior I like about Matlab is that functions are functions . Arguments are passed by value and there's no way a function can modify its arguments (well, except perhaps objects which are less common). Matlab will try to optimize

Very well written. I think using 'make' with the -j parameter (# of parallel jobs) is more useful than using gnu 'parallel'. The reason is that if one of the job fails for some reason, you just re-run 'make' an

Flink is popular. I believe Samza also fills a similar niche. There's also Kafka Streams which is suitable for many cases that do not warrant a full cluster with all the management and trouble required.

Whether Postgres (or similar) can handle the data depends not only on the data size but also on what you want to do with the data . I.e., if you are generating reports, running aggregations over a large amount of data you definitely need

Very similar to j2html for Java ( https://j2html.com/ ). Many other similar approaches, latest being JSX on the client side. Personally, I much prefer this approach to using some limited template language to generate HTML.

Sometimes different vendors provide some benefits. For example Intel's C++ compiler produces (or used to produce?) much more efficient numerical code than either gcc or clang. So for numerical applications C++ may make more sense than

The difficulty here is combining multiple libraries each using its own abstractions. For example, since the standard library does not have a Matrix class suitable for numerical applications (or maybe it does today...) using multiple librari

The effect also depends on the type of work you are currently doing. Some work requires more concentration and is more easily disturbed. Other, more routine work, can tolerate more noise (be it audible or visual.)

Thanks! If you are relying on developers to rotate their keys, perhaps you also need a centralized periodic check (lambda function perhaps) that verifies that keys are being rotated. I.e., verify that no one is using a key older than N days

How do you handle autoscaling? Server restart? Autoscaling requires credentials as part of the VM image. For server restart the credentials must be stored on the machine.

Yes. Use a local branch. They are cheap to create. You can name the branch and, of course, write a descriptive commit message. Stashes are for quick save and restore. Branches are way more powerful.
