Gross, the dev board uses micro-USB. It's 2024! Otherwise amazing work. Exactly what's needed to compete with the existing giants.

I think people, for both good and bad faith reasons, vastly underestimate how unlikely it would be for any sort of artificial signal to reach us. It would need to be so powerful and so precisely aimed at us that firing randomly into the voi

Clear Containers/Kata Containers/firecracker VMs showed that there isn't really a dichotomy here. Why we aren't all using HW assisted containers is a mystery.

Anything involving XmlDSig is far, far more complicated than it lets on. I doubt even the SAML experts know it 100%, maybe no one does.

These customers wouldn't be able to do that in time frames measured in anything but decades and/or they would risk going bankrupt attempting to switch. Microsoft has far more leverage than they choose to exert, for various reasons

This is a really unfortunate gotcha that's not at all obvious. Does it kick preemption up a layer to the OS then?

Yeah this is kind of nuts: >For the majority of IEEE’s fully open access journals, the article processing fee will be $1,995 USD. Some exceptions apply for certain titles, see individual journal author instructions for specific details.

The entire purpose of the judiciary is to interpret the law. This is what they are supposed to do. Chevron curtailed this essential power in favor of taking an agency at its word, which is quite a dangerous stance.

That's what sigrok or wireshark are for, IMO. Of course, you lose something for half the price. The ST one does have a protocol analyzer.

Shares do nothing except gain or lose value. The other stuff can actually, you know, do things! Some people value the ability for things to do other things.

The goal of science isn't to publish papers, it's to investigate hypotheses. If 98% of social science papers cannot be replicated then that's an indictment of social science, not the requirement to replicate. I suspect a lot

Linux has more microkernel features than you'd think. You can run all of networking, filesystems, HID and more in user space with BPF/Fuse. What else is left?
